Hotel Etico Programs

Hotel Etico is Australia’s first social enterprise hotel which means it exists to deliver fantastic holiday experiences to guests that will facilitate a work, training and live-in program for people with disabilities, enabling them to transition to open employment and become more independent.

During Hotel Etico’s independence program, trainees are supported to participate and contribute to the day-to-day operation of the hotel and restaurant rotating through a range of hospitality roles.

At the heart of the Hotel Etico’s Independence program is the Academy of Independence, a dedicated apartment within the hotel where hospitality trainees stay on their rostered work days providing a setting to experience supported independent living.

The Hotel Etico Independence Program targets young adults with disability, who are interested in becoming hospitality professionals and live a more independent life. People wishing to apply for a position in the training program must meet the following criteria:

  • Aged 18 to 35
  • Low to moderate support needs
  • Low personal care needs
  • Solid communication skills (verbal or otherwise)
  • Registered NDIS Participant

As part of our recruitment process all applicants will be required to submit a personal introductory profile and a risk evaluation which will cover behaviour support needs and mental health.
