THE GOTWOS

Drawing from the rich traditions of original material, Folk, Blues, Bluegrass and Celtic music, The Go Twos create a captivating musical blend merging their diverse backgrounds and passion for folk traditions into a unique and enchanting sound.

Rosie McDonald is a singer/guitarist with a strong, driving rhythmic playing style, often in alternate tuning as well as finger picking style guitar along with Irish bouzouki and bodhran. Rosie’s rich alto voice, leads the listener into the stories from her own writing while honouring the folk & roots tradition honed over the past 25 years. Rosie has played numerous gigs and festivals with Mothers of Intention, RAPT, Folklore, Seanchas, McMolly ,The Prankqueans & the Trippy hippy band. She is a founding member of Fairlight Folk Acoustic lounge and current Artistic Director of the Bundanoon Folk Festival.

Nigel Lever is a renowned bluegrass and folk mandolinist / guitarist and singer.  Founding member of iconic bluegrass band ‘Acoustic Shock’ and later with the Karen Lynne band, The Willing Ponies, 3 Jimmies, The 3 Marketeers, Trippy Hippy Ban, The Faraway eyes,  Gleny Rae Virus & the Grass Brazoos.   Nigel has toured extensively in Australia and overseas, as well as frequently travelling to the American Bluegrass heartland to immerse himself in the music at festivals such as Rockygrass, Grey Fox, Preddyfest, IBMA and Galax festivals.

Ann Palumbo – multi-instrumentalist and talented songstress Ann Palumbo is a jazz influenced soprano who has been immersed variously in the tango, indie and classical and folk scenes as performer – guitar, mandolin and double bass – and composer with tales to tell but with her roots and stories firmly in folk music. Ann has played in numerous bands including The Water Diviners, Urban Xcentrics, Tangocentric, WMCTV, The three Amigas and has collaborated musically with Rosie in many projects including their band RAPT and Mothers of the Nation band and now with the Go Twos on double bass and vocals.

The GoTwos have recorded their debut album Kurrawarra and released 2 singles Kurrawarra and See Summer Sea ahead of their launch will play songs from that as well as their varied repertoire

Jean Marshall has been singing blues and jazz in and around the mountains for a number of years. With vocals ranging from smooth, honeyed soul to gritty blues, the repertoire covers material from early blues, jazz standards to indie pop. Accompanied by the sensitive, modern guitar of Joel Fox and held together by the talented Eitan Muir on bass, this will be a delightful evening in a beautiful location.
