JOHN STUART’S LONESOME ORCHESTRA

December 13 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

John Stuart’s Lonesome Orchestra began as a labour of love on the part of four musicians. Playing great melodies, funky instrumentals and memorable songs, this ensemble is as unusual as it is accessible.

The group is led by John Stuart, musician and producer, playing pedal steel. A lifelong musician, John has  written music for numerous films, toured with artists such as Renee Geyer, and in his Sound Heaven Studios produces records for numerous independent Australian artists. He plays pedal steel regularly around the country.

Julia Day features on drums. Much loved in the Australian music scene, from live television performances to studio sessions, Julia’s recent national tours include indie rock gurus Do Re Mi and Beccy Cole and Adam Harveys the Great Country Songbook  tour. Her playing with The Lonesome Orchestra is an object lesson in taste and skill.

Glenn Skarratt is a multi-instrumentalist who in the Lonesome Orchestra features on electric guitar. With his love of Western Swing, bluegrass and blues, Glenn brings his fabulous melodic and rhythmic concepts to the Lonesome Orchestra party. Glenn has played with Mark Lucas and the Dead Setters, Karen Lynne’s Bluegrass Circle, Leslie Avril, and Aussie legends the Bushwackers

Last but not least, Dave Clayton is one of the most swinging bass players in the country whose music sizzles with creativity and joy. He has played with the legendary Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Daly-WIlson Big Band, James Morrison, George Washingmachine and George Golla. Dave has produced and arranged nine albums, and the Lonesome Orchestra is lucky to have him.

So an interesting crew. We hope you’ll join us in our musical adventures
