Hotel Etico is the first social enterprise hotel that trains and employs young people with a disability. Once they complete their training with us, we help them search for a job within the tourism and hospitality industry that aligns with their goals.

Participants (Trainees) live and train onsite, two (2) nights and three (3) days a week while gaining hands-on experience across hotel departments such as housekeeping, food and beverage, and kitchen operations. Alongside their hospitality training, they also build essential life skills in the Academy of Independence where they learn independent living skills.
As a Support Worker with us, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals to achieve open employment and live richer, more independent lives. Hotel Etico is currently recruiting Support Staff to join us across multiple locations with multiple opportunities.

Support Workers’ Main Duties within the Academies:
- Support the Academy Coordinator to deliver the Independence living skill program.
- Support trainees to develop independent living skills within the Academy.
- Provide on-the-job support and coaching during hospitality training within the hotel.
- Encourage independence while assisting with daily routines and shared living responsibilities.
- Help participants understand workplace expectations and build confidence at work.
- Work collaboratively with the team to deliver the Academy program.
- Manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Participate in a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and sleepover shifts.
SUPPORT WORKER’S MAIN DUTIES WITHIN EMPLOYMENT:
- On-the-job coaching and prompting
- Supporting workplace communication, behaviour, and routines
- Encouraging independence and skill development
- Supporting positive relationships between participants and employers
- Monitoring progress and report outcomes
Support staff are employed under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award.
